Susan K. Hrobar peacefully passed away on April 13, 2026. She was born in Whitefield, New Hampshire to parents Allison and Priscilla (nee Shute) Killam. Susan is survived by her beloved family: her daughters, Jessica Thayer and Julie (Brad) Demien; granddaughters, Audrey and Anna; and many extended family members.
A creative and adventurous soul, Susan majored in theater in college and went on to dabble in various art forms, gifting handmade items to family and friends.
In 1972, she married John J. Hrobar. Their journey together began in Boston and soon after moved to Wisconsin. There she developed close ties with the members of the UCC church, managing Vintage Style shows and participating in the Arts Committee. She also maintained a lifelong friendship with her childhood friends, “The Chicks,” and was an active member of a book club and sewing club, “The Sewing Divas.”
Susan cared deeply about conservation and nature. She loved hiking and wildlife photography. She was a special “Mimi” to her two granddaughters, whom she doted on. Her joy and zest for life will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 1:00pm at Evert-Luko Funeral Home 170 Warren Ave. Hartland WI. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a local food pantry or charity of your choice.
