Rosanne Laughlin, our wonderful sister, joined Jesus, and her mom, and dad on September 1, 2025, at the age of 82.
She was born to Martha (Casey) Laughlin and John D. Laughlin, Jr., on January 9, 1943, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. She lived in Pittsville, WI and attended St. Joachim’s school and Maryheart High School until she was 18, when she moved to Wauwatosa, WI, with her sister, Mary. She finished school at Wauwatosa East H.S., graduating in 1963. Following school, Rosanne worked for WI Gas Co. in food service and enjoyed her job and co-workers. Marquette Food Service gave her the opportunity to get to know the students and enjoy their friendship! Rosanne was always smiling, and the kids smiled back! Her next move was to Children’s Hospital of Milwaukee where she worked in the kitchen for 38 years, hardly ever missing a day!
Most important to Rosanne over the years have been family and friends! She is survived by her sisters Jean (Dan) Heinz, Mary (the late Tag) Hobert, and brothers John (Judy), Marshall, and Bernard Laughlin. Her nieces and nephews were the delight of her life. Patrick (Debbie) Hamill, Kevin(Amy), Timothy(Jill), Daniel (Marie), and Michael (Elaine) Hobert, along with John (Madelyn), Becca (Jason Nefs), and Sarah (Rob Fries) Laughlin provided endless laughter and fun! She visited them wherever they lived and quickly became the favorite aunt.
Rosanne loved well. She sent cards and letters, always reminding family and friends that she was thinking of them and was interested in what they were doing! She retired from Children’s Hospital in 2015 and loved the freedom to shop, travel, and visit every Starbucks in the vicinity. A caramel macchiato was a highlight in any day!
Some of Rosanne’s favorite relatives are already in Heaven, among them her mom and dad, and many aunts and uncles from the Casey, Laughlin, and Hobert families.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, September 8th, at 11:00 AM at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish in North Lake, WI. Family and friends are invited to visit directly at church from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass.
Donations gratefully accepted to the Hydrocephalus Association www.hydroassoc.org or Special Olympics www.specialolympics.org.
Rosanne lived a life full of JOY and LOVE! She leaves this earth in just the same way, grateful for her faith, family, and the fun she experienced while she was with us.
