Richard “Dick” Jacunski, age 78, passed away surrounded by his family on October 12, 2025. Born to Marie and Julius Jacunski in Wisconsin Rapids.
Dick is survived by his wife, Susan; his children, Nicole (Rick), Alexander (Andrea), Katharine (Bryce), and Patrick (Rebekah); his grandchildren, Lucas, Blair, and Charlotte; and his sister, Victoria. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, James and John.
Dick began his remarkable 50-year career at Simplex (now Johnson Controls) as a technician and worked his way up to branch manager. Dedicated and driven, he pushed everyone around him to be their best and accepting nothing less. He took pride in earning new customers and was the go-to person for solving problems. Reaching the 100% Club was always his goal, and Simplex truly became his second home.
Beyond work, Dick was a man deeply devoted to his family, especially to his role as a proud and loving grandpa. A longtime member of St. Charles Church, he was actively involved in parish life and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, both 3rd and 4th Degree.
Dick found joy in life’s simple pleasures: cheering on the Badgers and Brewers, playing Sheepshead, tending to his yard, and “collecting treasures” from rummage sales. He loved catching up with old friends over lunch, sharing stories, laughter, and good food. Above all, he valued staying connected with the people who meant the most to him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30am on Friday, November 7th at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Drive in Hartland, with a visitation from 9:30am until the service.
Memorials in Dick’s name may be made to St. Charles Parish or Knights of Columbus.
