Peter K. Purvis Sr.

Peter Kent Purvis, Sr., age 87, longtime resident of Hartland, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23, 2025, with family by his side.

He is survived by his loving children, Peter Jr. (Jill), Jeff (Lynda); sister Penny (Potter) Stiers; cherished grandchildren Peter III, Allie, Hannah; great-grandchildren Myles and Charlotte.

He was born in Aurora, NE, on July 15, 1937, to Eleanor (Davidson). His maternal grandparents raised Peter on a farm in Nebraska. At the age of 18, the U.S. Army brought him to Milwaukee, where he met the love of his life, Sharon Neff.

Peter was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, his mother, and his maternal grandparents.

Peter served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1963. He was in the WI National Guard from 1963-1971 and Air National Guard from 1971-1975.

In 1975, he was honorably discharged. He worked for Flitz Service Corp. from 1975 until he retired in 1996.

Peter was known as “Grandpa” for the final 35 years of his life. This was his most cherished role.

He was very loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The funeral service celebrating Peter’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Evert-Luko Funeral Home, Hartland. Family and friends are welcome to gather directly at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Village of Hartland Cemetery, where military honors will be held.
