Paul F. Knoebel, age 72, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
For those who knew Paul, it was impossible not to be drawn to his generosity, optimism, and unwavering devotion to the people he loved. He believed life was meant to be lived fully, and he did exactly that.
Paul shared 55 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Barbara, whom he met as a student at James Madison High School. Together they built a life centered on family, hard work, laughter, and giving back to others. Their greatest pride was their family, and Paul treasured every moment spent with their children, Kelly Anderson, John (Ashley) Knoebel, and Matthew (Jamie) Knoebel, along with his seven grandchildren—Harper, Payton, Jackson, Caleb, Lucas, William, and Hazel. Whether cheering from the sidelines at sporting events or simply spending time together, his grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy.
He is also lovingly survived by his siblings, Joan Knoebel, Thomas (Jim Kinas) Knoebel, Phillip (Mary) Knoebel, and Chris (Robert Porter) Knoebel, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. His faithful companion, Bocken, will miss him dearly. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, John and Shirley (Teschner) Knoebel.
After graduating from UW–La Crosse with a Bachelor of Arts in Business, Paul's entrepreneurial spirit led him to found Knoebel Associates in 1987. His vision and determination continued to grow through the creation of additional companies, including KJM Custom Components in 1998 and Renaissance Manufacturing Group (RMG), which he proudly co-founded with his brother, Phil, in 2015. Beyond building successful businesses, Paul built lasting relationships founded on trust, integrity, and respect.
While Paul's professional accomplishments were significant, his greatest legacy is found in his commitment to helping others. He believed every child deserves hope and opportunity. For nearly five decades, he passionately supported the MACC Fund, serving several years as Chairman of the Board, and founded Corporations Caring for Kids to further his lifelong mission of improving the lives of children.
Paul often said little about bucket lists because he was too busy living his. He found happiness at the family log cabin up north, on the golf course, exploring destinations around the world, and making memories with the people he loved most. He embraced each day with gratitude, curiosity, and a genuine appreciation for life's adventures.
His kindness, generosity, leadership, and love for family will continue to inspire all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy measured not only by what he accomplished, but by the countless lives he touched.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026, at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Drive, Hartland. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Paul's honor may be made to the MACC Fund. https://maccfund.org/donation/
