Nancy E. Fetkenhauer, lovingly known as Nanci, was born on June 10, 1938, in Brookfield, Wisconsin. She peacefully passed away, surrounded by her family, on January 2, 2026, at Dimensions Living West in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, and strength.
Nanci was raised in Hartland, where she attended Hartland High School, graduating as the last class before Arrowhead High School's establishment. Following her marriage to Sheldon, Nanci and Sheldon "Clem" lived on Nagawicka Lake, where some of her fondest memories were created. Her early years shaped the warm and caring person she became, with a sassy side that endeared her to many. Throughout her life, Nanci embraced her artistic talents, immersing herself in crocheting, knitting, painting, and drawing. Her love for reading further reflected her inquisitive nature and imaginative spirit.
Following the passing of her beloved husband, Sheldon, in 1966, Nanci found herself navigating various secretarial jobs before discovering her true passion in the restaurant business. She became a cherished hostess and co-owner of the Phoenix, a role in which she thrived, bringing joy and warmth to all who dined there.
Nanci was a proud matriarch, celebrated by her children: Pamela (Wayne) Hall, Thomas (Barbara) Fetkenhauer, Timothy Fetkenhauer, and Todd (Kay) Fetkenhauer. Her enduring love and guidance extended to her grandchildren: Ryan (Lynn), Cherie, Sydney, Wyatt, Justin, Nathan, and Tyler, along with five cherished great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings, Clifford Reimer, Thomas Reimer, and Peggy Holden, brother in-law, Lloyd (Karen) Fetkenhauer, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will sorely miss her kindness and vibrant spirit.
Nanci faced her life's challenges with grace and resilience, and while she mourned the loss of her parents, Delbert and Bernice (Betker) Reimer, her infant daughter, Patricia, her sister Cherie, her brother Dale, her husband Sheldon, and her granddaughter Krista, she held their memories close within her heart. Also remembered fondly is her significant other and co-owner of the Phoenix, Karl Stielow, whose partnership brought joy to her life.
A visitation will take place on January 14, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 pm at Evert-Luko Funeral Home, located at 170 Warren Ave, Hartland, WI.
Nanci's beautiful spirit, creative soul, and unwavering love will forever resonate in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of family, artistic expression, and a reminder to cherish each moment spent with loved ones.
