Kathryn E. Collopy

Kathryn Elaine Collopy (nee Severson), age 77, of Malibu, CA, formerly of Sun Prairie, WI, and Skokie, IL, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Kathy was born July 24, 1949, on the family farm in Elderon, WI, to the late Ervin and Evelyn Severson. She married William "Bill" J. Collopy in January 1978. Together they raised two children, Kevin and Jennifer. Kathy graduated from Triton College in Mount Prospect, IL with a nursing degree. She worked as an RN for many years. She retired to take care of Bill when he was diagnosed with throat cancer. Bill passed away on November 12, 2012. They were married for 34 years.

Kathy loved to play tennis, plant flowers around the house in the spring, and shop, especially at a good sale. She loved to play baseball and be silly with her grandchildren. She loved her dogs Cha-chi, Lily, and Hunny. Kathy is survived by her children, Kevin (Yvett) and Jennifer (Pete) Calas; her grandsons, Noah and Cullen, as well as her siblings, Irene Hatfield, Henry Severson, Raymond (Wendy) Severson, Sharon (Eric) Johnson, and Shirley (Manny) Bowman, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bill.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Elderon, WI. Family and friends are invited to visit at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Urn burial will follow at Evergreen Rest Cemetery.
