Joan M. Quinlan

It is with deep love and sorrow that we share the peaceful passing of Joan Marie Quinlan, at the age of 66, of Hartland, Wisconsin, on October 4th, 2025.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Eileen (Flock) Bogenberger.

She was the devoted mother of Amanda (Carlos) Quinlan Valero and Jessica (Ty) Johnson. She was the proud grandmother to Madison (15), Isaac (14), Emma (8), Baker (5), Blair (3), and Bennett (2 mos). She was a beloved sister to Tom, Connie, Mary (Jeff), Joe (Suzanne), Bob (MaryAnn), Jim (Kathy), John (JoAnne), Gary (Janet), Karen (Todd), Cheryl (Brian), Dan (Christine), and will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. She was also the loving birth mother to son, Ryan (Lindsay) McGuan, who she was blessed to have reconnected with later in life.

Joan will be remembered for her genuine nature, quiet strength, and generosity. Guided by her Catholic faith, she found joy in life’s simple, heartfelt moments. Her family and friends will miss her thoughtful gifts and hand-written cards she sent for every occasion. As a grandma, there was nothing that gave her greater joy than gathering together for Friday night dinners and puzzles, baking home-baked birthday cakes, and celebrating Christmas.

Joan dedicated over 30 years to the Waukesha Public Library, where she formed lifelong friendships. Though health challenges limited her activities in recent years, she cherished her travels, especially visiting her daughter Amanda in Spain, and more recently, enjoying trips with her sisters to Florida.

The Funeral Mass for Joan will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 14th, 2025, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Hartland, Wisconsin. Family and friends are invited to visit directly at the church from 10:00 am until the time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
