Jill A. Bernhardt

Jill A. Bernhardt, age 71, passed away on June 6, 2026. She was born on October 23, 1954, to Russell and Helen (Schoettler) Haag in Madison. She graduated from Mount Horeb High School in 1972 before earning a BA in Interior Design from UW-Madison and an MA in Architecture from UW-Milwaukee.

She met the love of her life and future husband, Michael, while a student at UW-Madison. They were married on November 25, 1978, in Mount Horeb.

Jill worked as an architect before making the transition to doing sales, support, and training for architectural and engineering software.

She was a devoted and deeply loving wife and mother. In her hobbies she found joy in travel, as well as baking and art, where her natural creativity would always impress. She instilled her values in her children, teaching them the importance of empathy, compassion, and equality. Her family will miss her kind smile and warm hugs.

Jill is survived by her husband, Michael; their children, Julia (Ajay Basra) Bernhardt and Daniel (Kim Newcomb) Bernhardt; and her brother, John (Kris) Haag. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Private family services will be held.
