Jean Marie Lehmann was lifted into Heaven on March 12, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Milwaukee on January 8th, 1942 to James and Marie Dooley and leaves behind a legacy of service, creativity, and devotion to those she loved.
Jean shared an extraordinary life with her husband, Willard. Their marriage of nearly 65 years was filled with love, partnership, and devotion. Together they enjoyed many beautiful sunsets, firework shows and sailboat races on Nagawicka Lake from the screened-in patio of the home they built together in 1960 where they have lived ever since. In her final years, Willard lovingly cared for Jean at home, showing the same commitment and love that defined their life together.
Jean was an avid quilter whose beautiful creations were shared with family, friends, and community members throughout the years. Her passion for community involvement was evident in the many organizations she dedicated her time to, including the Bark River school board, the Delafield Library board, the Hartland Women’s Club, investment clubs, book clubs and the many quilt guilds. She donated hundreds of her beautiful sewing projects to those in need including bags for breast cancer survivors, and quilts for churches. She believed deeply in giving back and helping build a strong and caring community. She was a regular blood donor for over 30 years. She volunteered many years for the Channel 10 Auction and volunteered her time making lunches for Meals on Wheels.
Quilting was one of her favorite pastimes but Jean was also a skilled baker. For years she worked at Nashotah Ovens and at the Donut Nook in Delafield plus baked countless delicious goodies for bake sales and for her family at home. She loved caring for her beautiful flower gardens. She was a big fan of Birkenstock sandals. She had dozens of pairs in her collection and wore them year round.
Above all, Jean cherished her role as a grandmother. She loved her seven grandchildren dearly - Madyson, Kaitlyn, Marlehna, Elizabeth, Cole, Nola Jean, and August. Grandma Jean was their biggest supporter and rarely missed a moment in their lives. She could be found in the stands at basketball, soccer, lacrosse, football, softball and baseball games, school events and dance recitals, cheering them on in every kind of weather and at any time of the day. Her presence, encouragement, and pride meant the world to them.
Jean was welcomed into Heaven with open arms by her beautiful granddaughter, Marlehna, whom she loved deeply and carried in her heart always.
Jean is survived by her children Laura, Michael (Margo) and Kristine. Jean’s family, friends, and community will remember her for her generous spirit, her kindness to others, and the happiness and humor she brought to everyone.
Jean’s memory will live on in the lives she touched, the quilts she lovingly stitched, and the family and friends who will forever carry her love with them.
A Memorial Service will take place at 10:00am, Friday, March 20, at Evert-Luko Funeral Home 170 Warren Avenue, Hartland, followed by a Christian burial at The Gardens of Stone Bank.
A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026 from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Ironwood Golf Course at W270 N6166 Moraine Dr. Sussex, WI 53089.
