Edward G. Michalski

Edward G. Michalski, 76, passed away peacefully with his beloved wife, Carleen, by his side on September 15, 2026.

A longtime resident of Hartland, WI, Ed lived a full and meaningful life centered on family. He took great joy in helping others, whether that meant fixing what was broken or building something from the ground up. There was nothing that Ed couldn’t figure out how to repair or create.

Ed found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed spending time outside, tending to his yard and cultivating a beautiful home inside and out. An avid Wisconsin sports fan, Ed rarely missed the Brewers, Packers or Bucks, and was always ready to talk about the latest game.

Ed married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Carleen. Their marriage of 56 years was a testament to love, companionship and commitment. Together, Ed and Carleen built a family and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Ed served his country as a member of the Wisconsin Army National Guard for 13 years with the 32nd Military Police Company. He received an Honorable Discharge and was deeply proud of his service.

Ed spent 45 years with WE Energies, beginning his career as a lineman and retiring as a line crew leader. He enjoyed the technical challenges of his work, as well as the friendships and camaraderie he shared with the people he worked alongside throughout the years.

Above all, Ed was devoted to his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Carleen, his children Tracy (Jason) and Kevin (Susie), and his grandchildren Lauren, Caroline, Andrew and Colin. To his family, he was affectionately known as Papa, and his grandchildren brought immeasurable joy and pride to his life. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Christine (Stephen) and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Josephine Michalski, and his sister-in-law, Susan.

Ed leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, hard work, and devotion to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Charles Catholic Church in Hartland, WI on October 2, 2026. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10 am at the church. Military Funeral Honors and Mass will follow beginning at 10:45 am.
