Dallas J. Kobriger passed on July 31, 2024, after a long and storied life.
Dallas was born in Chilton, WI. the son of Roman and Mary Belle (McHale) Kobriger.
Growing up with 7 siblings at the young age of 17, barely into his junior year of high school his country called and he answered by serving in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1942 to 1946, keeping the convoys safe in the North Atlantic. While on shore leave in New York, NY he met the love of his life Helen Holler at the Arcadia Ballroom at a USO dance.
His career kept him moving to Iceland, Newfoundland, Connecticut, Illinois, and Wisconsin. After retiring in 1983 Dallas spent all of his free time volunteering at the V.A. Hospital in Milwaukee where he achieved the amazing feat of 25,000 volunteer hours. He was a proud member of the Pewaukee American Legion 71 and Pewaukee VFW Post 9537. While serving as Commander for Pewaukee VFW Post 9537, he received the highest honor as the state's outstanding Post and Post Commander.
Dallas was preceded in death by his beloved wife Helen, son Dallas, Brothers John, Leroy, Clifford (Rita), and Donald.
He will be missed by his children Bruce, Kevin (Dory), Scott (Jodie), and Kelly, grandchildren Kyle (Kristin) and Jared (Kelly), and great-grandchildren Graham and Beck. He is further survived by siblings June, Dorothy, Jerome (JoAnne), Bob (Anette), and Kathy (Jim), and sister-in-law Cindy Kobriger.
