Colleen G. Millot, age 64, passed away peacefully at her home on April 30, 2025 surrounded by her family. Despite the rapid progression of cancer, Colleen faced her final days with remarkable grace and courage, surrounded by those who loved her. Though she did not have the time to fight as she might have wished, her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience lives on in all who knew her.
Colleen was born on November 9, 1960 to Robert and Delores (Kurtz) Flanagan in Hartland. She is survived by her husband, Ted; their children, Chris (Melanie) Millot and Megan (Matt Smits) Millot; her brother Bob (Candy Moskow) Flanagan; her nephew, Robbie and great-niece Tylerr Smith. She is further survived by many loving family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; and niece, Jami Hartwick.
Colleen grew up in Hartland, WI and attended Arrowhead High School. After graduating, she joined Arrowhead Transportation where she began her career as a bus driver. Colleen dedicated over 40 years of her life to safely transporting children to and from school. She primarily drove children with special needs, providing them with consistency and building lasting relationships with the children, their families, and teachers.
Colleen cherished the simple pleasures in life, like being outdoors, relaxing on her swing in the sunshine, cooking, gardening, canning, and riding her horse, Belle. Gardening and canning became beloved family traditions, and her famous crock pickles are still considered the best by everyone who tries them. Colleen and her husband, Ted, were always incredibly hospitable, ensuring there was always enough food for anyone who visited and that everyone felt welcome in their home.
She took great pride in her beautiful yard and worked diligently each spring and summer to maintain its tranquility, planting a variety of flowers. Colleen had a knack for keeping her geraniums alive through the winter, some of which she cared for over decades. During the warmer months, she could always be found outside tending to her lawn and plants, walking the dog, or simply enjoying the sunshine.
Above all her hobbies, Colleen's favorite was riding her horse, Belle. She devoted a significant amount of time and energy to Belle, cherishing every moment spent with her, whether on local trails or out-of-state rides. Colleen's love and compassion for animals were evident throughout her life, and she instilled that same love in her children. The Millot family has had many different pets over the years, and Colleen was always happy to care for and spoil them.
Most importantly, Colleen loved her husband, Ted, and her children, Chris and Megan. Married for 42 years, Colleen and Ted created a loving family, working hard together and enjoying outdoor activities like hunting and fishing. Colleen was a devoted and supportive mother who always encouraged her children's hopes and dreams. In addition to being a wonderful mother, she was a cherished and caring mother-in-law to Melanie and Matt. Colleen was truly the foundation of our family, a constant source of love, strength, and guidance that we will forever cherish.
