Claire May (Klusmeyer) Allison left this world of wonders to meet her heavenly Father in the very early morning hours on December 27, 2025. Claire was born September 19, 1933, on the Klusmeyer farmstead southwest of Coloma. She performed the Lord’s work for 92 years and 100 days. Claire graduated from Westfield High School in 1951. She then married Gordon Allison the next year in San Luis Obispo, California. To this union two children, David and Judy, were born. Claire later divorced in 1983. She then took a successful position promoting the application and proper usage of a computerized tax preparation program. Her vast knowledge of computers was mostly self-taught. Claire pursued a higher education in accounting and established a successful accounting and tax preparation business employing several employees. Her clients loved her and she loved them. At 80 years old, she retired in 2013.
Claire is survived by a daughter, Judy (Allison) French and husband David, a son David Allison, two granddaughters, Jamie Allison and Jody Allison, a brother, Robert Klusmeyer, a sister-in-law, Joyce Klusmeyer, plus cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Claire was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Etta (Wondry) Klusmeyer, and ex-husband Gordon.
Claire was a devoted mother and grandmother, and her daughter, Judy, was equally devoted to her. Above all else, Claire’s bond with her daughter was one of deep love, trust, and tenderness. Their relationship grew even stronger over time, marked by quiet understanding, shared laughter, and unwavering support. Their relationship was one of life’s greatest gifts. It is a love that comforted, sustained, and will forever be cherished.
In her last few years, she resided at The Waters of Pewaukee. Everyone there knew Claire; she enjoyed smiling and saying hello as she made her way to the dining room or the front patio, where she liked to sit. She shared her apartment with a live-in caregiver, Isaias, and had a twice per week caregiver, Pam, that gave her personal care. A long-time family friend, Kathy, did Claire’s shopping, errands, and handled her meds and supplements. This amazing caregiving team gave Claire many, many happy days with a lot of love and laughter. We are forever grateful for their love, time, and devotion to our beloved Claire.
Claire was an avid sports fan of football, basketball, and baseball. She so looked forward to the phone call from brother, Robert, to advise her of the date, time and channel to watch the in season games. Though she will be deeply missed, the love and memories she gave will stay with us forever.
