Cheri Marie Peckham, age 77, of Nashotah, Wisconsin, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on May 26, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.
Cheri was a beloved wife, mother, Nana, aunt, and friend whose life was rooted in faith, prayer, humility, creativity, humor, and love. She had a quiet way of making everything around her more beautiful- her home, her style, and most of all, the people she loved.
Her faith was deep and unwavering. She believed the way through this life is through prayer. She prayed faithfully for her family and unapologetically reminded them to do the same, always pointing those around her toward the truth of God’s unconditional love.
More than anything, Cheri loved her family fiercely, and her grandchildren were one of the greatest joys of her life. She was a creative soul with an unmistakable sense of style, a gentle spirit, and a beautiful smile. She loved soul music, her cream with a splash of coffee, carried just the right amount of sass, and had a sense of humor that kept her family laughing until the very end.
Cheri leaves behind a legacy of faith, creativity, laughter, and love. She taught us that in the end, the only thing that truly matters is love.
Cheri is survived by Gary C. Peckham, her beloved husband of 59 years; her children, Dana McNamee and husband Shaun, Keir Peckham, and Courtney Wood and husband Michael; and her grandchildren, Cole and Ashton McNamee, Pearl Peckham, and Sawyer and Stella Wood, who were the joy of her life. She is also survived by many other cherished family members and friends.
Cheri was preceded in death by her parents, Rolf and Mildred Dvergsdal; her brother, Royal Dvergsdal; and her sister, Clarene Daley.
A celebration of Cheri’s life will be held on July 6, 2026, at Nashotah Park, W330N5113 County Rd C, Nashotah, WI 53058, which would have been her 78th birthday. The memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with lunch to follow- a beautiful and fitting day to honor the life and love she gave so freely.
