Anna Elizabeth Klein (née Villnow) quietly passed away on August 20, 2026, in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, just one day shy of her 86th birthday.
Anna was born on August 21, 1940, to Natalie (née McDermott) and George Villnow in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She often shared fond memories of growing up in the area, from spending summers climbing trees to sitting atop the stairs and watching chocolate being made at Hughes’ Home Maid Chocolate Shop.
Anna graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Madison, Wisconsin, and worked as a nurse throughout her professional career. She married Jerome “Jerry” Klein in 1964, and together they built a beautiful life with their two children, Kevin Klein and Karen Klein-Sodemann in Hartland, Wisconsin.
Anna loved her family deeply and was devoted to always showing up for her children and grandchildren. She could be found at sporting events, choir concerts, dance recitals, graduations, holiday dinners, and countless other family occasions. She was present for it all, and was known for her quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, and the big smile that was almost always on her face.
In her free time, Anna loved to cook, crochet, and garden. She was a woman of great talent who excelled in each of her hobbies and generously passed many of her skills on to her family and those closest to her.
Anna is survived by her children, Kevin (Beth) Klein and Karen Klein-Sodemann; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Klein, Megan Sodemann, Madeline Klein, Tyler “TJ” Sodemann, and Sara Sodemann; as well as close friends and members of the community whom she always held dear to her heart.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Natalie Villnow (née McDermott) and George Villnow; her husband, Jerome “Jerry” Klein; her granddaughter, Nicole Sodemann; her son-in-law, Jon Sodemann; and her daughter-in-law, Janet Vanderplasse (née Seideman).
Visitation will be held from 1:00–2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Evert-Luko Funeral Home, 170 Warren Avenue in Hartland, Wisconsin, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be held the following day, Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Lakeview Memorial Cemetery in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The family would like to extend our deepest thanks and gratitude to The View of Oconomowoc in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, and Rainbow Hospice Services for the compassionate care they provided to Anna at the end of her life.
A special note to those attending the visitation and funeral service: Anna was not a big fan of black and always wanted her funeral to be colorful. In her honor, the family asks that those who choose to attend wear bright colors to celebrate her life and bring a little of the color she loved to her service.
