Wendy A. Johnson

February 8, 1949 — March 8, 2022

Our most loved Wendy Ann Johnson, 73, rose with the sun in the comfort of her home; surrounded by love and filled with peace, on March 8th, 2022, ‘International Woman’s Day.’

Wendy, daughter of Delbert and Mary ‘Dorothy’ (Cull) Elger was born on February 8th, 1949, in Summit Wisconsin. Raised in Hartland, with her beloved younger brother, Skip (Debbie) Elger; she was a graduate of Arrowhead High School (’67) and dedicated her life to the care and service of others.

In Pewaukee, Wisconsin where she raised her two daughters; Jennifer (Ward) Hollingsworth and Katye (Clay) Anderson, Wendy would leave a lasting mark. She served on the board of education as well as several community boards and charities; she served as an original founder and organizer of Pewaukee Soccer, on both the High School and Rec levels.

Her roots of caregiving started in hospice. First, River Hills Nursing Home, later serving as a CNA during Rogers Hospice pilot program and finally at ‘Our Lady of the Oak’s’ hospice. In Waukesha, WI Wendy continued her life of service and selflessness, she served as Director of the ‘Meals on Wheels’ program through the ‘Caring Place’ where she made lifelong friends and left an impact on the community that is felt to this day.

Kirkland Crossings Assisted Living and Independent Campus of Pewaukee Wi is where Wendy served as office manager for over twenty years and where she would retire from in 2018. It is here where she would share some of her most fond memories and meet her most adored friends and colleagues.

In her last beautiful months Wendy enjoyed watching her ‘programs’, bird watching, making gardening plans, car rides, ‘Chicago style’ hot dogs, popsicles, ‘Casablanca’, her furry friends and Jazz in her home.

A sincere thank you to the incredible and compassionate team of healthcare professionals from ProHealth Hospice who provided invaluable support and comfort during Wendy’s final chapter Earthside.

She is proceeded in death by her special friend and husband, Richard Johnson, her parents and other adored friends and relatives. She is survived by her loving family and by all she met along the way of her special life.

No services will be held.
