Nancy Carol Link, 85 of Waukesha, passed into eternal life on November 20, 2023, after being diagnosed with dementia on Nov. 10, 2016.
Nancy was born on June 11, 1938, at Douglas Park in Chicago. She was adopted by Gail Fenton and Ruth Marie (Neuman) Link. Being from a family that worked for the railroad, Nancy loved hearing the robust cry of the train whistle as it passed, wondering out loud, " I wonder where they are traveling?"
Early in life, Nancy worked for the Burlington Railroad as a tour guide for Colorado Springs wearing a cowgirl outfit. Throughout her professional career, Nancy worked as a Medical Records Administer and a Registered Nurse.
Nancy had a very active and positive life as stated in the Who's Who in the Midwest 16th Edition (1978-1979.) She was an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church, Waukesha, where she participated and volunteered in various ministries within the church. Nancy also volunteered her time with many other Waukesha Community organizations including Human Services of Waukesha County, the Cardiology Dept at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, and Thrivent SE Waukesha Co., where she served as Financial Director.
Nancy had a good sense of humor. She enjoyed cooking, barbecuing, reading, traveling (especially to Branson, MO), attending theater and concerts, listening to music, an affection for animals and Snoopy, catching glimpses of hot air balloons and mostly, experiencing all life had to offer.
Nancy and Donna were forever grateful for Nancy’s father's generosity, allowing them to travel to Israel and Egypt with St. Luke's Lutheran Church, not once but twice.
Nancy’s favorite season was fall. She loved watching the colors change. You frequently could find her watching sports and she never missed the opportunity to route for her “Green and Gold.”
Nancy is survived by her extended family, Donna Savin, Waukesha; Don (Sue) Savin, Oak Creek; Melissa (Bryan) Knitter, Oak Creek; Amanda Savin, La Crosse; Mandy Savin, Cape Coral, FL; and Nancy Bazile, Waukesha. She is further survived by other relatives and many special friends.
Nancy is preceded in death by her brother, Gail Fenton Link Jr.
