Myrtle Eloise Dorn left this earth to be with the Lord on Feb 12, 2023, at the age of 92 years 5 months. She had been in a decline for several months and had lost quality of life, so she was looking forward to joining her husband, Duane C. Dorn and son, Duane Skip Dorn in heaven.
She is survived by her daughter Claudia L. Dorn who will miss her but is happy she is at peace; and looks forward to the day when the family will be reunited.
Myrtle was the last surviving member of the “Dorn family” aunts and uncles. From Myrtles side of the family, Eileen Polzin is the only surviving aunt. Myrtle is survived by a large family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.
Myrtle is the daughter of Carrie and Harold Dallman. Her father and her aunt, Myrtle, for whom she is named, died of tuberculosis at early ages. Myrtle grew up during the depression, with help from her Grandmother Elizabeth (Dallman) Polzin and her husband, Gustav. She grew up with her “Uncle Ed Polzin” who was more like a brother than an uncle. Aunts and Uncles (the Czajczynski’s, Otto’s, Luedtke’s, Kendall’s) also helped with young Myrtle’s early years.
Myrtle graduated from Hartland High School and then married Duane to raise a family and have a wonderful life full of love, fun, and of course work. Myrtle and Duane worked hard to be able to enjoy life’s pleasures and shared their life with wonderful family and friends. They lived in the Merton/Hartland area until moving to Florida in the early 2000’s. There was no shortage of activities that included travel, baseball, boating, swimming, and of course, parties.
There are a plethora of family and friends who will miss Myrtle. She was loved by all, and she loved them all back.
Myrtle will be laid to rest at Wisconsin Memorial Park (13235 W Capitol Dr, Brookfield, WI 53005) on Saturday Feb 18, 2023.
