Linda Sue Burdick

April 9, 1945 — October 14, 2020

Linda Sue Burdick (nee Gallenbeck) was welcomed into the arms of our Lord on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.

Linda was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 9, 1945. She grew up in a loving, tight knit family. She was the eldest of four siblings, Curtis (Cynthia), Kenneth (Elaine) and Jeanne (Fernando), who lovingly referred to her by her middle name, Susie. She moved with her family to Pewaukee, Wisconsin and it was summer on Pewaukee Lake when she met the love of her life, and future husband, Robert. After graduating from Arrowhead High School, Linda studied to achieve her Dental Assistant certification from Marquette. Linda and Robert were joyfully married on May 22, 1965. Shortly thereafter she gave birth to her two children Andy and Betsy. She was the quintessential mom, ever present, dedicating her time, talents and whole heart to nurturing her children. Having more love to give, Linda and Robert felt very fortunate to be able to foster local children, demonstrating a beautiful example of generosity and selflessness to those closest to them. Children were drawn to her warmth and in turn, filled her spirit with great joy. One of her self-proclaimed proudest moments was the day she and Robert legally adopted two of their foster children, Kimberly Marie and Jessica Renae, into the Burdick family. The two girls renewed her sense of purpose and completed their family. She enriched the lives of and held a great fondness for her two, beautiful grandchildren, Mya and Finn Burdick.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Gallenbeck (Kay) and mother, Betty Kempen and her in-laws, Irwin and Ruth Mary Burdick.

She is survived by her loving, devoted husband Robert, her ever grateful children Andrew (Candace) Burdick, Betsy (Howard) Mueller, Kimberly Burdick, Jessica Burdick, her treasured grandchildren Mya and Finn Burdick, her three siblings, her brother and sister in-laws and nine nieces and nephews.

She is “On her way, rejoicing…”

No formal services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests honoring her love of animals, and donating to the Wisconsin Humane Society
