John Paul Merschdorf, age 58, passed away unexpectedly on December 24, 2022. John was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 12, 1964, to William Gustave Merschdorf and Margie Lou (Schroeder) Merschdorf.
John is survived by his devoted wife of 26 years, Michelle Merschdorf; daughter Morgan Merschdorf, son Josh (Katie) Bruckmoser, daughter Heather (Stephen) Harrison; grandchildren Molly, Maxwell, Stephen, Brody, and Levi; parents William and Margie Merschdorf; siblings Bill (Julie) Merschdorf, Melanie (Dan) Gabel, and Peter (Brenda) Merschdorf. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Rose (Hanson) McGillick; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many caring and loyal friends. It’s only right to mention his former employer, Harley Davidson, whom he retired from at the end of July of 2022.
John graduated with his associate degree in Tool & Die in 1988. He then served his Tool & Die State Indentured Apprenticeship for five years. He was a hands-on man and took pride in all his hard work throughout his career and personal life. John took ownership of a brand-new Harley each year and enjoyed going on rides with his wife and his many friends. He looked forward to attending his favorite rock music festival in Cadott, Wisconsin with his longtime friend Scott Crowbridge. He enjoyed making other people laugh with his contagious humor and jokes. John consistently put his wife and children before himself, which was an extension of how he was reared. He knew a little bit about everything which enabled him to carry on a conversation with most anyone.
John Merschdorf you were so many things to so many people. A doting and loving husband and father, a caring son, affectionate and devoted grandfather, and faithful friend to many. Your faith in God, kindness, wisdom, intelligence, humor, and life lessons will be remembered fondly.
