Merwin "Mert" C Ruprecht

February 12, 1927 — December 11, 2020

Merwin “Mert” Conrad Ruprecht, 93, of Oconomowoc, WI passed away on December 11th, 2020, after a brief battle with COVID-19.

Mert was born in Milwaukee, WI on February 12th, 1927 to Herman and O’Leaty Ruprecht. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Army Air Force. Upon returning, he met and married the love of his life, Beverly, on December 16th, 1950. They had three daughters, and eventually settled in Delafield, in 1966. He was a highly regarded sales agent, working for Sentry Insurance until his retirement at age 55.

A larger-than-life personality, Mert was quick-witted and possessed an amazing sense of humor. He was always smiling and spontaneously breaking into song, regardless of the situation. Mert lived life to the absolute fullest. He was passionate about religion, as he joined Christ The King Lutheran Church in 1966 and became one of the members of the board. An avid golfer, he recorded three hole-in-ones during his illustrious amateur career that spanned decades. He spent summers on Nagawicka Lake boating with his family. Winters were spent outdoors on snowmobile trails, and later in Palm Springs where he golfed with his beloved wife.

He is survived by his three daughters: Lynn (John) Droegkamp, Dawn (Chris Ayer) Perry, and Karri Ruprecht; Seven grandchildren: Dustin, Dane, Jesse, Shaun, Calli, Amber, and Cassidy; six great-grandchildren: Kaden, Rylan, Landon, Kailynn, Ainsly, and Mila; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Beverly; parents Herman and O’Leaty Ruprecht; brothers Sherburn (Ginny) Ruprecht and Duane (Joyce) Ruprecht; son-in-law David Smith, granddaughter Jamie Smith, and niece Annalee Ruprecht.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there will not be a funeral at this time. Looking forward to a Celebration of Life next summer.
