Joseph Michael Sizer, age 56, left this earthly world to join his parents in Heaven on March 3, 2023. He was born on November 28, 1966, to Robert C. (Bud) and Mary A. (Brandt) Sizer. Living most of his life in Hartland, Joe graduated from Arrowhead High School in 1986. He began working for the Waukesha County Expo Center as a part-time employee, advancing through the years to the role of lead man before leaving the County. He then went to work at Parts Hut in Hartland.
One of Joe’s passions was racing. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially rooting for Dale Earnhardt in the # 3 Goodwrench Chevy. Upon Earnhardt’s death, Joe became a Dale Earnhardt Jr fan, so much so that when he went into racing himself, he chose # 8 as his car number. Joe was the owner and lead mechanic for his Sizer Motorsports team, opting not to drive but rather being a member of the pit crew. His enthusiasm for the sport got many of his family and friends to attend weekly races at Jefferson Speedway to cheer him on. His love of working on vehicles also lead him to being the go-to car mechanic for family and friends.
Joe is survived and will be deeply missed by his brothers Bob (Donna), Jim (Kim),
Tom (Ellen) and Mark (Laurie) and his sister Mary (Glenn) Luebke. He was the proud uncle of Renee Sizer, Rob (Toby) Sizer, Rhonda (Brian) Eaton, Tammy Gisvold, Stephanie (Bert Hempler) Sizer, Carrie (Andrew) Joy, Derek (Becky) Sizer, Amanda (Mike) Rossbach, Ryan (Kayla) Sizer, Sarah Luebke and Nina Luebke. He is further survived by many great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents Claud and Esther Sizer
and Joseph and Rose Brandt; his nephews Cody Sizer and Andy Sizer, his Godson
Luke Gepner and other relatives.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 14 at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Drive in Hartland. Family and friends are invited to visit from 10:00 until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. Burial will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery.
Due to construction, the church kindly request visitors park in the northeast parking lot.
