James H. Sake

March 21, 1939 — March 20, 2021

James H. “Slippery” Sake, of Hartland, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 20, 2021 at the age of 81, one day short of his 82nd birthday.

He was born in Waukesha to parents Howard and Adele on March 21, 1939. His first job was at Jaeger Sand and Gravel and shortly thereafter he began his 32-year career at United Parcel Service starting out as a delivery driver. Slippery progressed through the ranks of UPS management finishing his career as a union negotiator.

After retirement from UPS James and Suzy spent many winters in both Arizona and Florida.
He loved his Wisconsin sports teams especially the Packers, Badgers and Brewers. He loved all things cars, owning many different cars during his lifetime. Some lasted only months in the driveway before being replaced with a different model. Slippery had a bigger than life personality. He was quick to share a joke and his enthusiasm for life was contagious. He shared that with family and friends over the years.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 44 years Suzy, son Jim (Ellen) Sake, grandchildren Clarissa (Matt) Barnett, Candace (Jake) Gadbaw, Jason Sake, and great grandchildren Brayden and Kyla Barnett. He is further survived by his sister Sandie Lofte, nieces and many friends.

Private Family Services will be held. If desired, memorials may be made to the Pro Health Care Foundation or Haws.
